If you want to get a taste of the real Istanbul, head on over to Kottbuser Damm, where a new Turkish restaurant has opened close to the Maybachufer. Gokoreç is one of many kebab joints in Berlin, specifically Kreuzkölln, but they're doing something slightly different: Čag Kebap, which is the original version of the skewer, 100% lamb grilled over firewood on a horizontally rotating skewer. You can choose to eat the juicy meat on a stick or as a sandwich. Also, this is one of the best (and only!) places in the city to dish out some mighty fine kokoreç!
