From September 5th to 7th, the lush courtyard of St. Elisabeth Church in Berlin-Mitte will transform into Italy's northernmost province for a weekend of gusto italiano. Formerly known as “Food Festival Berlin” by tipBerlin, the revamped Frizzante festival promises even more flavor, flair, and fizz. It all starts with a free aperitivo night on Friday and ends with a deep dive into prosciutto, Lambrusco, and the art of Italian food design.
Co-hosted by tipBerlin and Italian fine food importer Viani, this year’s “most Italian food & wine festival” lives up to its name with a lineup that stretches from Sicily to South Tyrol. Think: over 50 artisanal producers, winemakers, and culinary craftspeople, ready to let you sip, snack, and swoon your way through the Italian peninsula, all without leaving Berlin.
Highlights include:
- A sprawling Mercato Italiano with tastings galore
- Workshops, talks, and live tastings with experts in olive oil, cheese, Lambrusco, and beyond
- Live performances by Italo-German tenors Luca e Rapha and Shanghai-scene-veteran DJ Andrea
- A garden pop-up featuring some of Berlin’s best Italian restaurants serving dishes al fresco
Tickets for the main event (September 6–7) cost €20 and include a drink and and access to all tastings. If you're just in it for the vibes, swing by the free Pre-Opening Aperitivo on Friday night, September 5, from 18:00 to 21:30.
