CODA
OCDA is a fine dining restaurant in Berlin-Neukölln that opened in 2016 under the direction of pastry chef René Frank, becoming the first restaurant in Germany to focus exclusively on dessert. Over time, it has evolved from a dessert-only concept into an internationally acclaimed, non-conformist fine dining destination, where the foundations of pastry are expanded through the integration of savory elements, acidity, and umami, resulting in a highly distinctive tasting menu. While Frank remains closely associated with the restaurant and its vision, the kitchen operations are led by his long-time collaborator Julia A. Leitner, whose influence is central to Coda’s continued development. Awarded two Michelin stars and included in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, CODA stands out not only for its singular culinary approach but also for an ambitious beverage program rooted in cocktails, mixed drinks, and classic German wines, as well as its unlikely location on a quiet Neukölln street, where its understated exterior contrasts with the precision and ambition of the experience inside.
