Barlevain is a small neighborhood bistro in Schöneberg run by Maximilian Hühnergart and Anna Hernandez Götz in their first independent project together. Hühnergart previously cooked at Facil and worked as sous-chef at Bara, while Hernandez Götz comes from front-of-house and wine roles at Tulus Lotrek, a background that shapes the restaurant’s understated but highly considered approach. The small menu revolves around concise plates and snacks to share, moving between oysters with tomato hot sauce, homemade terrine, pork neck skewers inspired by Saxonian family recipes, and simple pasta dishes layered with deeply familiar flavors. The cooking feels distinctly German without leaning on nostalgia, pairing precise technique with a casual, family-driven neighborhood atmosphere
